Mantostoking is a one-beach forecasting desk. It reads a global wave model at the 20-meter line off Mantoloking, a weather model over the dunes, and the NOAA tide table, and writes them up the way a lifeguard would: how big, how clean, when to go.
Rules of thumb encoded here: the beach faces east-southeast, so anything from the west is offshore; the bars like mid tide, pushing; northeast windswell arrives short and lumpy; long-period south-southeast energy in hurricane season is what the town is stoked about.
